Offering greater than a 50% area reduction over a standard 8-lead TSSOP package and a 70% area reduction over the 150 mil 8-lead SOIC package, the 24LC01B is touted as the world's smallest 1K serial EEPROM in a standard package. By squeezing a 1K

Offering greater than a 50% area reduction over a standard 8-lead TSSOP package and a 70% area reduction over the 150 mil 8-lead SOIC package, the 24LC01B is touted as the world's smallest 1K serial EEPROM in a standard package. By squeezing a 1K serial EEPROM array into a 5-lead SOT-23 package, the device is a space-saving product in applications where reduced board size and memory are required, including home and automotive remote-keyless-entry systems, rechargeable batteries and rechargers, user presets in TVs, radios and fax machines, and redial number lists on phones. The device offers standard I2C protocol, 5-µA typical standby current and low 1 mA read current, 200-year data retention and 1 million erase/write cycles.
