The Model 3162A, a single-VXI-slot arbitrary waveform generator, combines a 500-MHz update rate, a fast 12-bit waveform generator, frequency agility, external digital and analog modulation, built-in 1 ppm reference oscillator and 1 Msample of waveform memory. The VXI board comes with extensive software support such as the firm's WaveCAD, a graphical waveform generation/control software package, a VXIplug&play driver for 16- and 32-bit Windows frameworks and a LabVIEW driver. The off-the-shelf board can be used for high-performance applications that formerly required custom equipment such as Gigabit Ethernet, telecommunications from DS-1 to SONET/SDH, radar, GPS, HDTV, ECM and avionics.
