BGA Reed Relay Saves Board Space

Lauded as the industry?s first form-A, planar, BGA reed relay with four independent channels, the RF capable B41 needs no slot or hole in the PC board to be mounted. In addition, new technology minimizes signal attenuation by allowing for shorter RF paths in a controlled 50? environment. Each channel on the B41 has an RF insertion loss of less than 8 GHZ with a roll-off point of -3 dB. A combination of coaxial and magnetic shielding reduces adjacent, closed inter-channel RF crosstalk to -40 dB at 1 GHz test signal. Magnetic interaction between channels is reduced to less than 16%. Useful for mixed signal and IC testers, the B41's BGA packaging, with JEDEC standard dimensions, allows it to be easily installed on PC boards designed for surface mount processing using either manual or automated pick-and-place techniques. Pricing is $62.15 each/1,000. For further information contact COTO TECHNOLOGY, Providence, RI. (401) 943-2686.
