Cholesteric LCD Technology Promises High-Res Colors

Manufactured using a new techniques, these new Cholesteric LCDs offer bright self reflection, unlimited viewing angle, low power consumption, and a variety of image color options. The new techniques are also said to result in high-resolution images of blue, green or yellow pixels, and the technology is realized without the use of polarizers or reflectors. And the resulting bright, high-contrast images reportedly use only a fraction of the power consumption of traditional LCDs. Applications include low-power mobile devices, retail products, and information boards.
