Open Tap improves the ease of installation of DeviceNet networks by providing connection of trunk lines, tap lines and power. The power connection is fused on both sides of the trunk line and has a dual reversing diode for protection and isolation, and LEDs for each fuse to indicate the presence of power. The Open Tap is available as an open board solution or as an enclosed solution. Because standard plug-in terminals are used, expensive pre-fabricated cables are no longer required and cost effective bulk cable is used instead.
