The VCE405 single-board computer suits low-cost, low-power embedded applications such as those found in medical environments. The 6U board draws only 7 W to power the 400-MHz 405GP PowerPC processor. It also has dual 64-bit PCI mezzanine card (PMC) sockets. Memory options include 128 Mbytes of RAM and 8 Mbytes of flash memory. Peripherals include a 10/100 Ethernet port, two Zilog enhanced serial ports, and four conventional serial ports. Pricing starts at $2360. Air-cooled and conduction-cooled versions are available.
