The GeniPS2 is a single IC that allows legacy human-input devices (HIDs) to easily connect to a system's universal serial bus (USB). Claimed to be ideal for use in docking stations and mobile systems, the devices allows a single USB port to accommodate two basic HIDs without the need for a Hub. In operation, the device connects to a system's USB port and provides two downstream PS/2 ports. Any devices that adhere to the PS/2 protocol, keyboards, mice, etc. can be connected to these ports interchangeably. Evaluation kits for the GeniPS2 cost $150.
