Industrial Motherboard Supports Dual-Core Processing

Aug. 8, 2006
Built on the Intel 945G chipset, the AIMB-762 from Advantech incorporates integrated graphics capability.

Designed as a high-performance industrial ATX motherboard, the AIMB-762 supports the dual-core Intel Pentium D, as well as all other Intel Pentium 4 and Celeron processors in the LGA775 socket. The platform is built on the Intel 945G Express chipset and delivers computing speeds above 3.8 GHz, with a system bus of up to 533/800 MHz. It offers up to 10.7 Gbytes/s of bandwidth and 4 Gbytes of memory. Dual DDRII 533/667 SDRAM enhances computing and memory performance with faster system response and support for 64-bit computing.

The AIMB-762 offers integrated graphics capability and a PCI-Express x16 expansion slot. The onboard VGA controller and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (GMA 950) are equipped to share up to 224 Mbytes. Through the GMA 950 and DVO outputs, the AIMB-762 accommodates a dual independent display with flexible video options, such as DVI and LVDS. If higher graphics computing performance is needed, the PCI-Express x16 expansion interface supports the latest graphics cards with better than 3.5 times the bandwidth of the AGP 8X interface. Several I/O expansion options are available: one PCIe x16 and one PCIe x4 interfaces or five 32-bit, 33-MHz PCI slots.
