InHand Electronics has been delivering portable, handheld development platforms for many years. At this year's Boston ESC, InHand was showing off their ATP for Monahans Platform Family that is based on Intel's latest 800MHz XScale processor.
The new platform highlights InHand's BatterySmart power management technology designed to reduce power consumption and increase battery life. The ATP for Monahans Platform Family also incorporates support for NAND Flash and DDR SDRAM memory, and a high performance graphics interface (see Figure).
As with InHand's other platforms, the ATP for Monahans Platform Family supports sockets for a range of wireless peripherals including WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS, in addition to Compact Flash and SDIO interfaces. Other peripherals include Ethernet, USB host, USB client, GPIOs, an AC97-compliant audio codec, and multiple COM, I2C, and SSP/SPI serial ports. The device can be mated with a wide variety of LCD displays and touchscreens. It has a complete lithium ion battery power system including charging and gas gauging. The board supports daughtercards.
