Designed to facilitate applications that require production-based calibration, the Versa1 microcontroller-based data acquisition SoC integrates a set of non-traditional on-board components. In addition to a four-channel, 12-bit a/d converter, the device also includes an 8051 compatible microprocessor, and what is claimed to be an unusually large amount of memory. The on-board components include a programmable constant current source driver and a MAC block. The current source driver can be used to excite resistive components such as resistive bridges or a thermistor. The MAC block promises the user the ability to perform math-based calculations to a much higher degree of accuracy than standard look-up table-based applications.
