Memory Socket Keeps Extremely Low Profile

Jan. 7, 2011
The VLP DDR3 DIMM very low profile (VLP) double data rate 3 (DDR3) dual in-line memory module (DIMM) socket with a maximum latch height of 16 mm is designed around JEDEC industry standards.

The VLP DDR3 DIMM very low profile (VLP) double data rate 3 (DDR3) dual in-line memory module (DIMM) socket with a maximum latch height of 16 mm is designed around JEDEC industry standards. The reduction in the overall socket height mated with a DIMM module allows enclosures to be smaller or boards to be mounted closer to each other while facilitating the heat elimination of high-end servers. The socket addresses interconnect requirements across server, communications, and notebook platforms. It is available with three gold plating options, two latch options (black or white), and is surface mountable. TYCO ELECTRONICS, Harrisburg, PA. (877) 623-4766.
