Powered by a fanless 1-GHz VIA C7 processor and VIA CX700 system media processor, the VIA EPIA NR Nano-ITX motherboard measures 12 cm x 12 cm and is said to be the first Nano-ITX board to natively support LVDS in two single-channel or one dual-channel monitor configurations without the need for a daughter board. This makes it suitable for a range of applications requiring two displays such as healthcare, industrial control, retail, and signage systems. Storage options include Serial ATA and IDE hard drive connectors for mainstream systems and Compact Flash for local OS storage in industrial automation. The board's I/O set includes Ethernet, a mini-PCI port, USB 2.0, serial and parallel ports, and Super I/O headers. Additionally, it supports up to 1 GB of DDR2 533 system memory and operates at an average of less than 15.5W for regular applications. Operating-system support includes Windows 2000/XP/XPe/CE and Linux. VIA TECHNOLOGIES INC., Fremont, CA. (510) 683-3300.
