PC/104 CPU Board Includes DAQ Functionality

In the interests of reducing space and costs, the Elektra PC/104 CPU board integrates a Pentium II CPU running at 200 MHz, 128 MB of RAM, Ethernet, and an analog and digital I/O circuit with auto calibration. Operating system support includes Linux, DOS, QNX, and Windows CE. The board consumes 5.5W of power and operates in temperatures from -40°C to 85°C without a fan. Its data acquisition (DAQ) circuit provides stable a/d conversion with a 16-bit resolution and programmable input ranges. It includes four 12-bit d/a channels, 24 programmable digital I/O lines, and two programmable counter/timers. Additionally, a 512-sample FIFO and a programmable timer promise error-free, 100-kHz sampling in any operating system. The board is available in two configurations: the ELK200-EA-XT includes the CPU plus DAQ and the ELK200-E-XT provides the CPU only. Both versions include four RS-232 ports, two USB 1.1 ports with USB floppy support, 10/100 Ethernet, parallel and IDE ports, programmable watchdog timer, and a backup battery. Single-unit prices for the ELK200-EA-XT and ELK200-E-XT are $750 and $450, respectively. DIAMOND SYSTEMS CORP., Newark, CA. (510) 456-7800.
