PC/104 Module Blends Popular Analog And Digital I/O Functions

Dec. 1, 2001

The ADIO-104 reportedly blends the most requested analog and digital I/O functions in a single PC/104 compliant module. Designed to satisfy mainstream and cost-sensitive applications, the ADIO-104 contains sixteen single-ended 12-bit analog inputs that are independently programmable to operate in one of four ranges: ±10V, ±5V, +5V or +10V. This effectively increases the dynamic range to 14-bits when using range-switching software techniques. The boardÕs a/d converter operates up to 50 ksamples/s and allows the separate acquisition and conversion intervals to be controlled by the host software or automatically timed by the ADIO-104 hardware. Eight 12-bit analog outputs are provided and share a common jumper selectable output range: +5V, +10V, -5V, -10V, ±5V, or ±10. These can be updated simultaneously using a single software command. Three eight-bit digital I/O ports are also included. List price for the ADIO-104 is $352 each/100. SCIDYNE, Pembroke, MA. (781)293-3059.
