A compute blade from Continuous Computing leverages the high performance of Intel's new L7400 low-voltage Core 2 Duo processor. The FlexCompute cPCI-CD1215, combined with the company's full suite of CompactPCI (cPCI) platform solutions, Trillium protocol software, and professional services, enables telecom equipment manufacturers to extend the life of their cPCI systems while increasing performance and reducing equipment costs. The blade accommodates twice the memory capacity and computing power compared to the industry's best-in-class Intel Pentium M-based blades, according to Continuous Computing.
The cPCI-CD1215 employs power-efficient, high-performance DDR2-400 memory and a range of on-board storage and I/O options, including extended-duty SATA disk, optional SAS disk, and Gigabit Ethernet ports to the front and rear, and other PICMG 2.16 options. The blade is NEBS-compliant and backward compatible with previous generations of the company's cPCI blades, It can also be integrated with Continuous Computing's Flex21 Network Service-Ready Platforms for a complete system solution. Typical applications include application server, Home Subscriber Server (HSS), Media Gateway Control Function, Call State Control Function, and other compute-intensive next-generation network and IP Multimedia Subsystem networks.
