Supporting surface-mount QFN and MLF packages, the 3-IN-1 Adapter System features a unique solder-pad elevator that promises to dramatically improve upon the original adapter design. The elevator is also said to be ideal for users with a need to remove the restrictions capacitors or resistors impose, which prevent direct mounting between an adapter and the target board. The elevator is attached to the target board’s pads using a standard surface-mount process and raises pads 1.911 mm above the board. Prices for the adapter systems with the QFN/MLF SMT-to-SMT pad elevator start at $329 each. For more details, contact Mark Wilson at EMULATION TECHNOLOGY INC., Santa Clara, CA.
