Forecasting unique possibilities for low-power lighting design, the TPS62260LED remote-control board teams with the eZ430-RF2500 development tool to provide a complete platform for color-lighting applications. The TPS62260LED board controls the color and brightness of a lamp or runs an automatic color light animation program. Users generate color with three OSRAM high-brightness LEDs (red, green, and blue) and an MSP430F2131 microcontroller controls the brightness of each LED with constant current generated by three TPS62260 LED drivers. Wireless control comes by way of the eZ430-RF2500 development tool, which plugs directly onto the TPS62260LED board. Prices for the TPS62260LED and eZ430-RF2500 are $19 and $49 each, respectively.
