SMT RJ45 Connector Carries Magnetics, LEDs

An RJ45 connector is available with integrated 10/100-Base magnetics and optional LEDs in an SMT package. This design results in a smaller package, enabling manufacturers to move toward smaller board sizes and to lower manufacturing costs by virtue of decreased purchasing and inventory requirements.The connectors are said to offer increased return-loss performance due to the integration of magnetics.
