Low jitter and tight frequency tolerance coupled with two selectable output frequencies are seen as being key factors in helping the VPLB54TED VCXO gain design wins in SONET and other telecomm applications. The two frequencies can be selected from a 120- to 200-MHz range, using an input logic pin. The new VCXO permits designers to build two operating frequencies into their system board with one device. Other features of the crystal-controlled oscillator include a phase jitter spec of less than 0.5 ps from 12 kHz to 20 MHz, switching time between frequencies of 200 ns, and a frequency-versus-temperature stability of ±20 ppm from 0°C to 70°C. The device costs $50 each/1,000. CONNOR-WINFIELD CORP., Aurora, IL. (630) 851-4722.
