The SG-SOIC-3000 GHz ZIF sockets for SOIC chips with a 0.5-mm pitch, feature a small footprint requiring about 2.5 mm of extra space around the chip. Signal path distance is either 0.5 mm or 0.75 mm and operating temperature is from -35°C to +100°C. Employing elastomeric interconnect technology, the sockets specify a signal loss of less than 1 dB at 6.5 GHz or 10 GHz and a typical contact resistance of 23 milliOhms per lead. The socket can mount using hardware, requiring holes for screws and for positioning on the target board. If drilling holes on the target board is not an option, epoxy-mount sockets are the other option. Single-unit pricing for the SG-SOIC-3000 is $475. IRONWOOD ELECTRONICS, Burnsville, MN.
