+110°C Modules, 20 dBm USB Stick Advance ZigBee Networks

Nov. 19, 2013
+110°C mini modules and +20 dBm USB sticks, powered by the EmberZNet PRO ZigBee stack, fine-tune ZigBee network environments.

CEL’s MeshConnect EM357 high temperature ZigBee mini modules and MeshConnect EM357 USB sticks, both powered by the EmberZNet PRO ZigBee stack from Silicon Labs, provide additional ways to link into and control ZigBee network environments within the connected home, lighting, building automation and industrial markets. MeshConnect EM357 high temperature mini modules are specifically designed to address the thermal challenges associated with heat-intensive applications. Competing modules with maximum ratings of +85°C experience significant power droop at elevated temperatures, and RF range suffers as a result. The ZigBee modules overcome this limitation by supporting a maximum operating temperature of +110°C, while still delivering the maximum +20 dBm of output power. MeshConnect EM357 ZigBee USB sticks enable monitoring and control for devices with USB 2.0 port connectivity. Ideally suited for retrofitting existing products like satellite set top boxes, hubs, gateways and white goods, the sticks can also be used as sniffers for Over-The-Air network logging. Each stick includes an additional 1 MB of Flash memory for upgrades or additional programming. Production quantities of the +8 dBm standard range (ZM357S-USB) and the 20 dBm long range (ZM357S-USB-LR) MeshConnect EM357 USB sticks are available now. Engineering samples of the ZICM357SP2-1-HT (PCB Antenna) and ZICM357SP2-1C-HT (RF Port) MeshConnect EM357 high temperature mini modules are also available now.
