The MRX2000, a consumer-grade module for 802.11n WLAN applications, reportedly enables higher throughput of content for quality critical applications, thereby allowing for faster wireless connectivity. Optimized for HD video streaming in both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, the module supports a number of applications including set-top boxes, digital media adapters, TVs, residential gateways, routers, game consoles, and media center applications. The module integrates a 2x3 transceiver, MAC, baseband processor chip set, and an RF front-end. Additionally, it pairs with various electrical and mechanical interfaces such as the company's mPCI proprietary interface, ST Microelectronics proprietary interface, USB2.0, and PCI Express. Operating-system support includes Linux 2.4/2.6, Kernel Series, and Windows CE 5.0 to 6.0/XP/Vista. The MRX2000 is now sampling with production set for the end of the third quarter.
