Operating at speeds up to 1 GHz, the latest members of the company's LVPECL-to-LVDS clock-driver family include the MAX9310 and MAX9310A single 1:5 LVPECL-to-LVDS clock drivers and the MAX9317 and MAX9317C dual 1:5 LVPECL/LVDS-to-LVDS clock drivers. Each device accepts two LVPECL/HSTL/LVDS differential or single-ended signal sources into the input multiplexer and converts them to LVDS. The differential outputs comply with the ANSI TIA/EIA-644 LVDS standard. Jitter performance is stated as 0.8 psRMS and typical output-to-output skew is 10 ps. For low-voltage systems, the MAX9310/MAX9317/MAX9317A operate from a 2.375V to 2.625V power supply for use in 2.5V systems and the MAX9310A/MAX9317B/MAX9317C operate at 3V to 3.6V in systems with a nominal 3.3V supply. The MAX9317A and MAX9317C reduce component count with an integrated 50° termination. Each of the new drivers deliver an output voltage of -250 mV at 1GHz and operate over the extended temperature range -40°C to +85°C. The single MAX9310 and MAX9310A are available in a 20-pin TSSOP and the dual MAX9317 and MAX9317C are available in 32-pin TQFP and QFN packages. Prices for the MAX9310 and MAX9310A start at $6.11 and the MAX9317 and MAX9317C start at $8.65, each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
