A complete multiplexing and switching solution to slash the deployment cost of ATM or packet-based DSL services is provided with the VORTEX chipset, an integrated DSLAM chipset that supports all DSL service types and provides traffic aggregation, switching, maintenance and management functions for more than 2000 subscriber lines. The chipset includes three products: the PM7350 S/UNI-DUPLEX, the PM7351 S/UNI-VORTEX, and the PM7326 S/UNI APEX and the recently announced PM7324 S/UNI-ATLAS and is said to be well-suited for DSLAM equipment used to provide high-speed consumer Internet access, as well as third-generation wireless base stations, base station controllers and multi-service access equipment.
