The TSB43AA22 integrates both a 1394a open-host controller interface (OHCI) and the physical layer (PHY) on a single chip, making it suitable for use in both notebook and desk-top computers. This two-port device consumes only 35 mA of current, claiming to reduce power consumption by 60% compared to similar devices.
The device is fully compliant with the full range of IEEE 1394-related specifications including 1394a-2000, FireWire, iLINK, OHCI 1.0, and revision 2.2 of the PCI bus interface. Two ports operating up to 400 Mb/s are provided and the PCI-bus interface is compatible with both 3.3- and 5-V signaling environments.
Available in a 128-lead TQFP, pricing is $14.64 each.
