For 3G/4G handsets, the LMH2120 linear RMS, RF-power detector claims to deliver the industry’s highest precision with up to 40 dB dynamic range. It provides stable performance over a temperature range from -40°C to +85°C with a variation of ±0.5 dB. The device performs modulation-independent measurements of less than 0.3 dB and includes a shutdown pin for reducing power consumption in between measurements. Other specs include operation from a single 2.7V to 5V supply, current consumption of 2.9 mA, operating frequencies from50 MHz to 6 GHz, and an RF power detection range of -35 dBm to 5 dBm. Available in a six-bump, 0.82 mm x 1.22 mm microSMD package, price is $2.40 each/1,000. NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 272-9959.
