RoHS-Compliant Diversity Switch Handles 3.0 GHz

July 12, 2006
M/A-COM’s MASWSS0191 targets cross-modulation performance in cellular and PCS paths.

MASWSS0191 is a high-power SP3T diversity switch for applications requiring cross-modulation performance in the cellular and PCS bands while maintaining excellent insertion loss and isolation. The RoHS-compliant switch has a low control current, which maximizes system linearity and minimizes the transmit and receive path loss. The switch is well-suited for CDMA handsets and other applications that require switching to take place on a single antenna.

The switch comes in a very thin, 2-mm, 8-lead STDFN package. It is fabricated on a low-cost, 0.5-micron gate length GaAs PHEMT process with full passivation added to improve reliability. The MASWSS0191 maintains high linearity up to 3.0 GHz. Typical specifications include a P0.1 dB of 37 dBm, a typical insertion loss of 0.65 dB, and a third-order intercept point of 58 dBm. As with other M/A-COM switches, the MASWSS0191 is 100% high-power rf tested.
