Techaya’s MILTECH 919 fully managed, board-level Ethernet switch, available through U.S. distributor MilSource, measures 10.7 by 4.8 by 0.05 cm and weighs 0.052 kg—a weight that’s approximately 25% of existing board-level Ethernet switches used in military and avionic applications.

It incorporates eight triple-speed (10/100/1000 Mbits/s) ports plus a 100/1000 fiber-optic port. A built-in board-to-board connector facilitates adding advanced switching capabilities to embedded platforms with space and weight limitations. Advanced network features include virtual local-area networks (VLANs), traffic prioritization (quality of service, or QoS), bandwidth aggregation, and L3 static routing. The switch can be remotely managed to optimize communications and prioritize critical information traffic. Passive cooling eliminates the need for heatsinks. The MILTECH 919 complies with MILSTD-461E, MILSTD-810F/G/GM and IP68. It will find homes in military/aerospace applications such as embedded avionics and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications.
