For use in high-speed data transmission in Gigabit Ethernet applications, the S2060 transceiver chip operates at 1.25 Gbps in conformance with the IEEE 802.3z Gigabit Ethernet specification. As a SiliconHiway solution, this single-port transceiver implements high-performance, low-power, high-speed data communications across LANs, MANs and WANs. The new CMOS device is pin-for-pin compatible with firm's bipolar S2052, a dual-frequency, single-chip solution for Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications. The compatibility lets the S2060 cost effectively integrate into existing solutions. The device requires a single 3.3V power supply and typically dissipates 600 mW.
