Expanding the Legerity VE880 VoicePort series VoIP telephone interface devices, the Le88266, Le88276, and Le88286 devices offer a pin-compatible upgrade from existing devices while bringing performance improvements to residential and enterprise gateway markets. Reportedly, the additions require approximately half as many external components than comparable offerings. They support all types of VoIP residential gateway applications including cable embedded multimedia terminal adaptors, DSL integrated access devices, and fiber to the home optical network terminals. Each device supports wideband/narrowband operation and two power supply configurations. First, an automatic battery switching (ABS) power supply configuration (Le88266 and Le88286) allows the sharing of one power supply across multiple channels. The second configuration is a tracking power supply (Le88276) that enables low power consumption, making it suitable for applications that require battery backup. The VE880 Series also supports up to 140 Vpk ringing. Available in 80-pin eLQFPs, the three devices provide two complete FXS telephone line interfaces, from the TDM interface on a broadband SoC to the tip and ring wires of the RJ-11 or other telephone connector.
