The ACU2109 monolithic GaAs upconverter supports the latest 256 quadrature-amplitude modulation (QAM) digital formats, providing the low phase noise required for 256 QAM digital transmission that enables increased channel capacity for expanded modem, telephony, and CATV broadcast services. The 256 QAM systems can contain four times as much signal intelligence as previous 64 QAM generations. Noise figure is 6.5 dB and conversion gain is 8 dB with power consumption of 600 mW. The upconverters are compatible with the Multimedia Cable Network System (MCNS) interoperability standards.
