The ATVS-NxT anemometer, a portable scanner weighing 15 lbs. total, promises rapid and precise temperature and air velocity measurements for thermally characterizing electronic packages. It operates with an embedded PC and includes an 8-GB hard drive, a CD/RW drive, and Ethernet interfaces. Employing StageVIEW-NxT data-acquisition software, the instrument supports up to 32 sensors for simultaneous, single-point measurements. The sensors are calibrated for both low (natural convection) and high velocity flow rates. Temperature measurement ranges from -30°C to 150°C and velocity measurements range from 0 m/s to 51 m/s (10,000 ft/min). Starting price for a standard unit is $7,848.
