Designed for use with the ZD backplane interface, the EYE-OPENER ZD cable assembly combines a high data rate digital cable with the ZD connector to deliver bandwidths of 5 Gb/s and higher. The cable assembly employs expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) as the dielectric core for the digital interconnect cable. This helical-wrapped ePTFE core reportedly ensures controlled electrical properties throughout the signal path, and its smaller diameter and minimum bend radius, combined with the low dielectric constant materials, allows more signal lines per area. Additionally, the assembly is said to exhibit low signal loss, low cross talk, low skew, controlled capacitance, and controlled impedance. For more details and price, contact W. L.
