Taking center stage as the industry's first low-capacitance, 15- kV ESD protection devices, the CM1209 adheres to the IEC61000-4-2 specification and exhibits 6 pF of input channel capacitance. The devices provide 4, 6, or 8 integrated channels of 15-kV contact protection, with each channel consisting of a pair of diodes that steer the ESD current pulse to either the positive or negative supply rail. An integrated zener diode supply clamp reduces transients on the supply rail and eliminates the need for an external capacitor. The devices are available in miniature MSOP and SOIC packages and also feature a supply current of less than 10µA, clamping voltage of less than 15V, and sub-nanosecond response times.
