Claiming title as the industry’s smallest and most powerful biometric fingerprint sensor, the EntréPad 1510 is available in a 40-ball BGA measuring either 12 mm x 5 mm x 1.86 mm or 12 mm x 5 mm x 1.20 mm. The sensor is the first to feature the company’s Power of Touch approach, which is said to extend biometric technology beyond secure user authentication to the power of touch. It allows users to incorporate features and functions in their products that are controlled at the touch or swipe of a finger, such security, navigation, and personalization. Other features include a lifespan beyond 10-million rubs, an image-capture rate of greater than 1,500 fps, finger motion capture rate of greater 500 mm/s, and an operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C.
