General-purpose industrial image sensing, such as machine vision, inspection, and motion monitoring, could get a boost from ON Semiconductor’s PYTHON CMOS image sensor family. The PYTHON 300, 500, and 1300 feature resolutions of 0.3, 0.5, and 1.3 Mpixels, respectively. In-pixel correlated double sampling (ipCDS) technology enables global shutter imaging with CDS in a compact pixel size, resulting in CCD-like optical performance. The PYTHON pixel combines a read noise of less than 9 e- with 7.7-V/lux sensitivity and frame rates up to 850 frames/s to capture fast-moving scenes without distortion. A configurable sequencer makes it possible to tailor sensor operation to the exact needs of the application. Industrial operating temperature ranges from ‒40 to +85°C. The VGA, SVGA, and SXGA sensors are pin-to-pin compatible with one another and with the VITA1300 image sensor.
