By employing a modified heat pipe core, ProAir heat exchangers are said to efficiently prevent excessive heat rise in cabinets and enclosures. For example, the heat rise in a small enclosure without heat exchanger and a 300W heat load will be about 50°F above the ambient temperature. With the 20"H x 7.50"W x 3"D XR 20-4 ProAir heat exchanger the heat rise will be limited to about 24°F above ambient and with the 29.50"H x 10"W x 3.13"D XR 29-3 unit, 15°F above ambient. The slim-profile heat exchangers have a closed-loop design that insures dirty, ambient air circulates separately from the clean enclosure air and so help extend the life of the housed electronics. And the units are UL/cUL listed and NEMA 12 per UL 50 rated and are available in 115V or 230V and 50/60 Hz configurations. Efficiencies range from 4W/°F to 14W/°F, and the units can operate at temperatures up to 155°F and are claimed to be virtually maintenance free.
