Coming in the standard 1 by 1 in. footprint for dc-dc converters, the TRACOPOWER THN-30 series features the highest power density among comparables, according to developer PowerGate LLC. The THN-30 series devices have a wide 2:1 input (9-to-18/18-to-36/36-72 VIN range), while the THN-30WI versions offer an ultra-wide 4:1 input (9-to-36/18-to-75 VIN range). Both series maintain seven output models of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, ±12, and ±15 VOUT. Efficiency reaches up to 92%, and operating temperature ranges from −40° to 50°C at full load or up to 85°C with an optional heatsink or output power derating. Other functions include remote on/off control; remote adjustment; and overcurrent, overvoltage, and overtemperature protection. A tightly regulated output voltage is supplied even under no-load condition. At no-load operation, input current measures 8 mA. All models have 1500-V dc isolation, and meet UL60950-1 safety and EN55022 Class A Emissions (with input capacitor) standards.POWERGATE LLC
