Groomed for wired and wireless mouse applications, the ADNS-7530 and ADNS-7550 laser navigation sensors rely on the company's LaserStream technology that enables laser mice to track more precisely over a variety of surfaces. They come with several lens options (small form factor, trim, and wide trim) and provide motion detection at speeds up to 30 ips. An on-chip oscillator and integrated vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) minimize the number of components required for the design. The ADNS-7550 series targets wired applications while the ADNS-7530 series employs a lower power architecture with automatic power management modes, making it suitable for wireless designs. Other features include operating-voltage ranges of 2.7V to 3.6V for the ADNS-7530 and 4V to 5.25V for the ADNS-7550, self-adjusting frame rates, a motion-detect output, selectable 400, 800, 1,200, and 1,600 cpi resolutions, laser-fault detection circuitry, and Class 1 eye safety compliance Prices for the ADNS-7530/7550 sensors start at $2.50 each in high volume.
