A new line of high-performance radio-frequency crystal oscillators (RFXOs) features low jitter and phase noise, enabling full use of the allotted bandwidth. They feature phase jitter of less than 0.5 ps. The RFV300 series voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) also provide lower bit-rate errors in optical data communications. Available in a variety of frequencies from 600 MHz to 1.25 GHz, the RFV300 devices target Sonet, synchronous digital hierarchy, asynchronous transfer mode, and wide-area network applications. The parts feature a standard operating temperature range of −20°C to 70°C. An extended temperature range of −40°C to 85°C is also available. The RFXOs are available with frequency stabilities of ±50 ppm, ±25 ppm, and ±20 ppm. Both 3.3- and 2.5-V versions are offered, featuring LVPECL complementary outputs. Output symmetry ranges from 45% to 55% at 50% VDD over the entire frequency range. The VCXOs are housed in standard 7.5- by 5.0- by 1.5-mm ceramic packages. Pricing for an RFV300 oscillator at 622.08 MHz starts at $25 per unit in 1000-unit quantities. The VCXOs are available now, with delivery times of 10 to 12 weeks.
