LVDT Linear Position Sensors Offer Shorter Unit Length

Oct. 13, 2010
For industrial apps where a conventional LVDT position sensor proves too long or environmental contaminants can limit sensor performance, Macro Sensors offers right-angle configurations of its spring-loaded and through bore LVDT position sensors.

For industrial apps where a conventional LVDT position sensor proves too long or environmental contaminants can limit sensor performance, Macro Sensors offers right-angle configurations of its spring-loaded and through bore LVDT position sensors. These offer a shortened unit length and also prevent debris from accumulating inside the sensor body. The components, designed with a radially-mounted electrical connector, are shorter than those with axial connectors. Additionally, the bending radius of the mating cable does not add to the length. As a result, installed length of the LVDT position sensor is at least 2” shorter than comparable units with an axial-mount connector. The right angle LVDT position sensors operate in temperatures up to +105°C.  Also available are hermetically sealed versions, constructed of stainless steel with coil windings sealed to IEC standard IP-68 and capable of withstanding pressures up to 1,000 psi.
