Suitable for deployment in nuclear facilities, boilers, and steam turbines, the high-temperature and mild-radiation resistant HSTAR 750 series LVDTs are hermetically sealed, stainless steel, linear position sensors. The 19-mm diameter, ac-power device are capable of withstanding temperatures up to 400°F and mild radiation at 3 x 107 rads for 40 years. They are also viable for use in radiation-resistant robots, beam-scraper positioning feedback, nuclear steam valve positioning, and power-generation applications. Available in ranges of ±1.25 mm to ±250 mm, the sensors provide high resolutions, reliable repeatability, and low hysteresis. Maximum linearity error is ±0.25% of full range using a statistically best-fit straight line derived by the least-squares method. Termination is via a sealed radial connector located near one end. A mating connector plug comes with each unit, and a radial-mount connector allows through-bore operation. For pricing, contact Eileen Otto at MACRO SENSORS, Pennsauken, NJ. (856) 662-8000.
