The XFTC-101-M5 Series miniature load cell is said to be the world’s first load cell to measure as low as 2 Newtons full-scale range. Overload capacity is four times the measurement range. Optimization at low ranges is achieved by using a mechanical amplifier coupled with an aluminum alloy or stainless steel sensing element. Bonded to the element are highly stable, micromachined silicon strain gauges. Seven full-scale measurement ranges include 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 Newtons. All offer a high sensitivity output of 150 mV full scale and an accuracy of better than ±0.5% full scale. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 120°C. The load cell is suitable for both static and dynamic applications and has a standard mechanical fitting of M5 male threads. It also can be supplied with female fittings, a choice of M6 or M8 threads, and other custom options.
