Pressure Sensor Delivers High Resolution Measurements

Sept. 7, 2010
For demanding pressure and water level measurement apps, the XP-6000CA absolute pressure sensor detects height changes in 3-cm increments by sensing pressure changes.

For demanding pressure and water level measurement apps, the XP-6000CA absolute pressure sensor detects height changes in 3-cm increments by sensing pressure changes. It employs a QMEMS pressure-sensing structure that allows the sensor to squeeze into a tiny 7 mm by 5 mm x 2 mm package and provide a total pressure accuracy ±30 Pa and a resolution of 0.3 Pa. Other specs include a measurement range of 30 kPa to 130 kPa, operating temperature range from -40ºC to +85ºC, an I2C interface, and a supply voltage from 2.4 to 3.6 Vdc. The XP-6000CA will be available in October.  Epson Toyocom Corp., San Jose, CA. (800) 228-3964.
