Reflective Switch Provides Adjustable Sensitivity

June 30, 2010
The OPB725A-18Z employs an infrared LED and a logic-output sensor in a reflective switch configuration.

Meeting a number of non-contact reflective object sensing applications, the OPB725A-18Z employs an infrared LED and a logic-output sensor in a reflective switch configuration. It features adjustable sensitivity and a reflective sensing distance up to 24” depending on the object. Sensitivity is adjusted via a trimpot that is accessible through a 4.3-mm diameter hole in the sensor body. In addition to an 850-nm LED, the OPB725A-18Z comes with 48” (122cm), 26 AWG wires with mounting nuts. Power dissipation is 250 mW, maximum collector voltage is 30V, and collector dc current is 50 mA. Operating temperature ranges from 0°C to +50°C. OPTEK TECHNOLOGY INC., Carrollton, TX.
