The V844ME02 voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) optimizes the performance and quality of any point-to-point phase-locked loop (PLL) by offering linear tuning and superior phase noise. This device covers 3430 to 3610 MHz within 0.5 to 4.5 V dc of the control voltage. It offers an average tuning sensitivity of 87 MHz/V and achieves a typical spectral purity of −88 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz from the carrier. Drawing 18 mA off a 5-V dc supply, the VCO gives end users 2.25 ±1.25 dBm of output power into a 50-Ω load. It operates over the extended commercial temperature range of −40°C to 85°C. Available in a low-profile (0.5- by 0.5- by 0.13-in.) MINI package, the V844ME02 costs $15.95 each for prototyping quantities.
