The company’s high-pressure, seawater-resistant LVDT position sensors are suitable for use in sub-sea measurement systems that monitor structural movement in long-term finite-element analysis of offshore platforms, pipelines, derricks, and moorings. They also measure the position of valves in sub-sea oil well control towers. The sensors employ 316SS and Inconel 625 for pressure and corrosion resistance, ensuring a minimum life of 20 years. To minimize the number of pressure-sealed connections and I/Os, the sensor connects to a 4 mA to 20 mA two-wire, loop-powered I/O, which then converts signals to RS-485 for transmission to the surface. A 4 mA to 20 mA I/O also minimizes noise over long transmission lines. For more details, call MACRO SENSORS, Pennsauken, NJ. (856) 662-8000.
