The Model R2950 SMD clock oscillator provides the advanced frequency and jitter performance required by Sonet and optonetworking applications. The part's −40°C to 85°C temperature range enables advanced datacom systems to operate in outdoor desert or arctic environments. Model R2950 operates from 19.44 to 400 MHz, with total jitter below 6 psRMS. Maximum offset jitter in the 12-kHz to 20-MHz frequency band measures 1 psRMS. The oscillator is based on high-speed ECLPS LVPECL logic, which develops dual complementary outputs for noise-resisting differential clock signal transmission. Typical waveform rise and fall times are 225 ps. Operating from a 3.3-V dc supply, the oscillators can be supplied in stability grades of ±100 ppm and ±50 ppm. Stability specifications cover variations in dc supply voltage, load, and temperature. The devices come in a 5- by 7-mm surface-mount package with a 1.9-mm maximum height. The R2950 oscillators are priced at less than $20 each in OEM quantities. Standard-frequency versions are available from stock.
