The PSS-QP50-6-SM surface-mount quadrant photodiode has a total active area of 50 mm2, and the quadrant features an element gap of 42 µm. Capacitance per quadrant is typically 17 pF at 12V of bias. Spectral responsivity is 0.45 A/W at 633 nm with a rise time of 45 ns. Dark current is less than 10 nA per segment at 10V. The overall package measures 14.5 mm x 16.6 mm and is 2.2-mm thick. A clear non-darkening resin protects the device and surface mounting can be accomplished by re-flow soldering or by using conductive epoxy.
