Designed for use in automation applications with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and mini PLCs, the LVC-2402 single-channel linear-velocity displacement transformer (LVDT) signal conditioner operates from 24 V dc. It works in factory locations where space and power sources are limited. Designed to support any standard LVDT, the signal conditioner offers three user-selectable analog outputs, including 0 to ±10 V dc, 0 to 10 V dc, or 4- to 20-mA current output in a three- or four-wire current loop configuration. The 24-V dc input power of the LVC-2402 is fully isolated from its analog outputs. Thus, the conditioner can connect in either a four-wire isolated I/O configuration or in a three-wire common ground system in which the power is connected to the output signal's ground. LVDT excitation frequency comes in a choice of either 3, 5, or 10 kHz. The LVC-2402 measures just 0.88 in. wide by 2.95 in. high. Pricing starts at $305 per unit.
